Though LYNX Project is closed, our education program, Composition of a City, continues through the partnership of two organizations: MUSIC Inc. and Theater Y.

In 2023-24, students had the opportunity to learn, create, and perform their own compositions at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the support of Music Inc. Along with at MUSIC Inc. and Theater Y, this collaboration will allow this program to continue to serve students in the North Lawndale area of Chicago and empower the next generation of students to share their stories through original song.

FAQ

How long does it take a class to go through the curriculum?

The six lesson plans can easily be tailored to fit a variety of class session lengths. It would be possible to breeze through the material in six weeks, but we also have had educators use the materials with their classes for an entire semester.

What age group are these materials meant for?

This curriculum was designed with teens/high schoolers in mind, but has also been used by middle school classrooms. Feel free to connect with us directly about using it for younger age groups.
