1. What has been your favorite part of working on the Amplify Series thus far?
I have loved my experience composing for the Amplify Series! A standout to me has been how personal the connections are with the artists and whole team at LYNX. Being a young neurodivergent composer I feel accepted and understood by the community of people and I am honored to be able to create music together!
2. How did you discover your passion for composition and what do you love most about it?
I started composing as a way to process my internal conflict, using the compositional process as a healing mechanism and a form of communication. I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words, and composing became a way to express my internal experience through an external medium, sort of like letting people into my head to understand me on a deeper level. I would say what I love the most about composing is the ability to foster emotional connections with people simply from having experienced my music.
3. How would you describe the process of composing a piece of music?
I compose very specifically, utilizing simple fundamental ideas and expanding upon those ideas throughout a piece. Every aspect of a piece is interrelated with the initial idea, and I love seeing what kinds of connections I can make that build upon each other to create new sounds.
